Elderly man arrested for stealing money from chiefs

The 64-year-old mayor is being held for taking a 370,000 subsidy from the sobas.

The Criminal Investigation Service together with the National Police of Negage detained last Friday, 30, the mayor of Tema village, suspected of the crime of theft of monetary values in the order of Kz. 370,000, not seized because they have already been spent.

The fact took place in Bango village, Dimuca commune, when the financial of the Municipal Administration made payments of subsidies from the traditional authorities of that village.

According to the National Police on its Facebook social network page, after compilation of the sheets, it was concluded that the suspect appropriated 370,000 kzs that were intended to pay previous subsidies to 10 staff of traditional authorities.

The same is already detained and will be presented to the Public Ministry.
