SIC detains five DRC citizens for border and health fence violations

Five (05) citizens from the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo were arrested yesterday by the Border Guard Police, in Zaire, for the crime of violating the border and the sanitary fence, in view of the Presidential Decree declaring a State of Emergency in the country.

The arrest of the offenders took place in Canal do Santo António, in the municipality of Soyo, when they, aboard an artisanal vessel, intended to reach the national territory, an act that was frustrated by the police force patrolling the area.

It should be noted that those involved were promptly referred to the Foreign Migration Service, for the subsequent necessary procedures.
